Job summary

Shipt is seeking a Senior Engineer to build and enhance shopper payments systems and compliance services, leveraging geo-spatial foundations. Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience with a language like Go, Python, Java, or C/C++.
• Experience designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining backend REST API services with a focus on performance and latency.
• Comfort with SQL databases (Postgres preferred).
• Actively participate in design to build scalable, efficient architectures.
• Experience diagnosing complex issues and performance bottlenecks using data.
• Ownership of production services, reliability, and on-call rotation participation.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and partner teams to deliver impactful solutions.
• Self-driven and outcome-oriented with focus on delivering value.
• Passion for learning, mentoring, and helping others grow.
• Excellent communication skills; experience with third‑party service integrations.
• Optimized backend systems for latency, performance, and scalability.
