Job summary

Shipt is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Shopper Backend team in a hybrid Minneapolis-based role. You will own production services, design high-performance multi-region systems using Go, Postgres, Redis, and Kafka, and drive architectural decisions with minimal supervision.

You will mentor peers, lead complex challenges, and contribute to engineering culture while shipping real-world features for shoppers nationwide.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of backend software development in a cross-functional Agile environment.
• Proven experience building and scaling multi-region distributed architectures and microservices.
• Strong knowledge of Go and RESTful API design.
• Experience with Postgres, Redis, Kafka, and caching technologies.
• Familiarity with design patterns and CS principles (Gang of Four).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy, and own complex production services end-to-end.
• Drive non-functional requirements such as performance and scaling.
• Analyze metrics and ship real-world features for shoppers nationwide.
