Job summary

Amazon Japan is seeking a Senior Engineer to manage the installation of material handling and automation equipment, verify operational capability, and start up new fulfillment centers and cross-dock sites. You will collaborate with global teams and suppliers to maximize site performance while balancing safety and cost, driving scalable technology and standardized processes.

Qualifications

5+ years of industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer in a manufacturing environment.
Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
Knowledge of automated material handling systems, packaging technologies and storage solutions.
Experience with Six Sigma and lean manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Lead installation of material handling and automated equipment, commissioning tests and acceptance procedures for site launches and retrofits.
Collaborate with Amazon internal stakeholders and external vendors to resolve technical issues optimizing safety, schedule, quality, and cost.
Improve communication channels and processes, build trust with stakeholders, and drive consensus.
Work with global engineering teams to introduce new safety and quality processes in Japan and standardize best practices globally.
Enhance partner company capabilities and promote safety, quality, and cost reduction.
Develop standard work and engineering guidelines to ensure a safe workplace.
