Hidden Jobs is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to lead automation across web, mobile, and API surfaces in a fast-growing product team. You will own the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated test coverage and help set QA strategy and architecture.

Qualifications

Role overview

This Senior QA Automation Engineer role sits inside a fast-growing product and technology team building consumer-facing sportsbook, casino, and social casino products at significant scale. The position owns the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated test coverage across web, mobile, and API surfaces, and helps set the technical direction for the QA function. It is a senior, hands-on engineering role with mentoring responsibilities and direct influence on test strategy and architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, execute, and maintain UI automated tests for web using Playwright with Python, and for mobile using Appium with Python.
• Build and maintain API automated tests in Python across the broader technology stack.
• Apply testing pyramid principles and white-box techniques to decide the right level of coverage for each feature.
• Use AI tools to accelerate understanding of the platform and to speed up development and maintenance of automated tests.
• Identify and drive architectural changes and refactoring work that improves the QA team's efficiency and scalability.
• Mentor QA team members and provide code review guidance, ensuring quality, stability, and efficiency in test code.
• Maintain documentation for automated test scripts, frameworks, and processes, and conduct thorough regression testing ahead of releases.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience in automation testing across API, Playwright, and Appium frameworks.
• Strong proficiency in Python and a thorough understanding of the testing pyramid.
• Critical, questioning approach to AI-generated output, with a commitment to sound design principles and coding standards, plus some experience developing AI-driven testing capabilities.
• Understanding of web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and familiarity with browser developer tools.
• Familiarity with mobile operating systems for iOS and Android and how mobile apps are built and tested.
• Experience with Git for version control and with building CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced, product-driven environment.

• Cross-browser and cross-device compatibility testing experience.
• Experience performing root cause analysis on defects and partnering with developers to drive fixes.
