Hidden Jobs is seeking a Senior Automation QA Engineer to lead the quality engineering strategy for an education-sector software platform that unifies tools for recruiting, hiring, absence and time management, and special education programs serving thousands of institutions.

As a senior member of the team, you will own end-to-end test automation across multiple products, shape QA standards, and introduce AI-assisted approaches to modernise testing workflows.

Qualifications

• Senior Automation QA Engineer or AQA Lead with hands-on Playwright/TypeScript.

Role overview

This role leads the quality engineering strategy for an education-sector software platform that unifies tools for recruiting, hiring, absence and time management, and special education programs serving thousands of institutions. As a senior member of the team, you will own end-to-end test automation across multiple products, shape QA standards, and introduce AI-assisted approaches to modernise testing workflows.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the QA strategy across the products in scope, including regression planning ahead of releases
• Build and maintain automated end-to-end tests using Playwright and TypeScript
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated test execution
• Develop API-level tests and validate test data using SQL
• Maintain and operate across multiple automation frameworks
• Lead root cause analysis for significant defect trends and recurring bug volumes
• Standardise QA processes and practices across projects
• Mentor junior and mid-level automation engineers and provide technical leadership
• Explore and prototype AI agents and AI-driven solutions to improve QA workflows
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, provide QA estimates, and communicate progress, risks, and technical topics to engineering and business stakeholders

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Automation QA Engineer or AQA Lead
• Strong hands-on expertise with Playwright and TypeScript
• Solid background in API testing and SQL for test data validation
• Experience maintaining and working across multiple automation frameworks
• Familiarity with designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Track record of designing and executing regression testing strategies
• Leadership, mentoring, and clear communication skills
• Experience working in Agile teams and producing QA estimates
• Willingness to overlap with European business hours, working morning to early afternoon local LATAM time (approximately until 2 PM BRT / 12 PM COT)
• Intermediate+ written and spoken English

• Hands-on experience with root cause analysis and defect trend reporting
• Experience standardising QA practices across multiple teams or projects
