Hidden Jobs is seeking a senior-level Automation QA engineer to drive the QA strategy for a multi-product education platform. The role combines hands-on automation with leadership, mentoring junior and mid-level QA engineers while standardising testing across the FLE project.

You will design and maintain CI/CD pipelines, build automated tests with Playwright and TypeScript, perform API testing with SQL, and lead root-cause analysis for defect trends.

Qualifications

This senior or lead-level position drives quality assurance strategy for a multi-product education-software platform serving thousands of educational organisations. The role combines hands-on automation engineering with leadership responsibilities, mentoring junior and mid-level QA team members while shaping how testing is done across the FLE project.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end quality strategy across multiple products within the FLE project
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated test execution
• Build and maintain automated tests using Playwright and TypeScript
• Work across multiple automation frameworks and standardise QA practices across projects
• Perform API testing and validate test data using SQL
• Design and execute regression testing strategies ahead of releases
• Lead root cause analysis for significant defect trends and bug volumes
• Provide technical leadership and support to junior and mid-level QA engineers
• Design and implement AI agents and AI-based solutions to improve QA workflows
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and provide QA estimates for upcoming work
• Communicate testing progress, risks, and technical topics to engineering and business stakeholders

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Automation QA Engineer or AQA Lead
• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright and TypeScript
• Solid experience with API testing and SQL
• Experience working across multiple automation frameworks
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills
• Experience working in Agile teams and providing QA estimations
