Job summary

Talisman seeks a Managing Director to join its rapidly growing North American energy advisory practice. The role combines deep industry knowledge with client leadership, business development and team building to originate and lead high-impact engagements.

You will guide complex regulatory, financial and strategic assignments, maintain senior client relationships, mentor junior professionals and represent the firm at industry events.

Qualifications

• Typically 15+ years of relevant energy-industry experience.
• Deep subject-matter expertise in energy sector with regulatory, commercial and market understanding.
• Significant experience advising utilities and energy companies.
• Proven ability to originate new work and expand accounts.
• Experience leading complex engagements and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills with executives and regulators.
• Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree or credentials advantageous.
• Willingness to travel to client sites and industry events.

Responsibilities

• Originate, scope and lead complex engagements across the North American energy sector.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior executives, utilities, regulators, investors, developers, legal counsel and others.
• Provide strategic advice on regulatory, financial and industry challenges.
• Lead the development of high-quality analyses, reports, presentations, testimony and other client deliverables.
• Maintain and expand senior client relationships, identifying opportunities for new engagements and broader advisory support.
• Lead business development activities, including proposals, scopes, approaches and budgets.
• Provide senior oversight and quality control across multiple engagements, ensuring projects are delivered to a high standard, on schedule and within budget.
• Represent the firm through industry events, thought leadership and other external activities.
• Mentor and develop consulting teams while contributing to recruitment, training and broader firm leadership.
