Job summary

Liberty Mutual Insurance in Atlanta is seeking a Senior Underwriter to underwrite energy accounts independently within delegated authority, making data‑driven accept/decline and pricing decisions for complex high‑line risks across oil & gas, pipelines, power generation and renewables in North America.

You will manage broker relationships, assess exposures using historical data and engineering reports, set terms and limits, and collaborate with Claims, Actuarial and Engineering to improve

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent typically required.
• 2.5–3+ years of progressive underwriting experience or related experience.
• CPCU or professional insurance designation preferred.
• Proven analytical ability to evaluate underwriting risks with qualitative and quantitative tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of brokers/agents and clients; source and underwrite profitable energy business.
• Assess technical exposures using loss histories, engineering reports, production/operational data and modelling; set terms, limits and deductibles.
• Provide portfolio analytics and insights to inform pricing, appetite and marketing plans.
• Maintain senior broker relationships and articulate coverage differences and risk appetite.
• Collaborate with Claims, Actuarial, Engineering, Legal and UW Support; participate in improvement and product development projects.
• Mentor junior underwriters and represent the company at industry events.
