Job summary

Honeywell International, Inc. seeks a Senior Energy Solutions Development Engineer based in the United States (flex/remote) to support North America project development.

You will lead central plant design and optimization projects for Public, Federal, and C&I markets, guiding sales with expert technical input and detailed life-cycle analyses. Responsibilities include mentoring engineers, performing energy and cost analyses, and engaging with customers to drive Honeywell solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of experience with central heating/cooling plants and CHP systems.
• Hands-on experience with boilers, chillers, cooling towers, hydronic/steam systems.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license.
• Knowledgeable of ASME, NFPA, UFC, and international mechanical codes.

Responsibilities

• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid systems.
• Read and interpret P&IDs, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Generate conceptual schematic design of concepts for preliminary cost estimating.
• Familiarity with energy metering, performance trending, and data analysis.
• Calculate annual energy consumption of central heating/cooling plants and CHP plants.
• Develop detailed saving calculations for proposed solutions.
• Generate 30-year life cycle cost analysis of new/modified plants including financing, site growth, and incentives.
• Create scope of work documents for internal/external use.
• Perform root cause analysis and develop solutions for performance issues in central plants/CHP systems.
• Engage in customer-facing activities and present technical briefings.
• Analyze growth opportunities and review proposal activities.
• Develop and champion best-in-class sales training.
• Provide mentorship and coaching to engineers.
