Job summary

Maryland Public Service Commission is seeking an Assistant Director of Energy Analysis and Planning (Program Manager II) to identify energy planning issues and recommend policy changes that support regulatory oversight of utilities in Maryland. The role coordinates with state agencies on forecasting, risk management, and energy modeling to ensure grid reliability and meet clean energy goals.

The position also involves serving as an expert witness before the Commission and assisting the Division

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Engineering, Environmental Science, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Public Policy, or related field
• Four years of experience performing legal, utility, energy, engineering, or economic policy analysis
• Two years of experience working on energy planning issues
• Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Experience with statistical analysis, econometrics, and economic modeling software

Responsibilities

• Identify energy planning issues and recommend policy changes to support regulatory oversight
• Coordinate with state agencies on energy forecasting, bulk power system risk management and energy modeling
• Serve as an expert witness before the Commission and assist the Division Director
