Job summary

The Maryland Public Service Commission seeks an experienced leader for the Energy Analysis and Planning Division in Baltimore. The Assistant Director will guide energy forecasting, model development, and planning efforts to ensure grid reliability and affordability for Maryland residents and businesses.

You will coordinate with the Strategic Energy Planning Office, serve as an expert witness before the Commission, and direct analysts in evaluating scenarios to meet energy needs and clean energy

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Engineering, Environmental Science, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Public Policy, or related field.
  • Four years of policy analysis or related duties.
  • Two years of energy planning experience.
  • Advanced degree may substitute for experience.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor energy planning issues and coordinate with state agencies.
  • Sponsor expert testimony, comments, or reports on energy markets and regulation.
  • Lead/ supervise staff in work group activities and coordinate meetings.
  • Perform division administrative duties as needed.
  • Answer inquiries promptly and manage other duties as assigned.
