Job summary

State of Maryland's Public Service Commission seeks a full-time Attorney to provide legal and policy advice on electric, gas, transportation, telecommunications and other regulated industries. You will review filings, draft orders, and advocate for regulatory outcomes before the Commission and in courts, with responsibility for briefing and litigation support.

Applicants must have a Juris Doctorate, be admitted to the Maryland Bar, and possess at least three years of energy regulatory experience

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate required; admitted to the Maryland Bar.
• Excellent writing, verbal, and communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide analysis, advice and support to the Commission on matters pending before it and on matters before other State and federal regulatory agencies.
• Review, evaluate and provide analysis of applications, transactional documents, testimony and pleadings submitted to the Commission.
• Prepare draft Commission orders.
• Provide oral and written briefings on matters of interest to the Commission; and
• Litigate cases in State and federal courts, including handling appeals of Commission orders.
