Job summary

Leidos Engineering LLC seeks a Senior Energy Engineer to drive energy efficiency initiatives, calculate savings estimates, and communicate technical issues within cross-functional project teams of contractors, suppliers, architects, and engineers.

The role focuses on evaluating incentives for Ameren Illinois electric and natural gas customers, reviewing energy systems, and researching technology changes to improve program performance. Remote work with Illinois-based preference is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Economics, Business Administration or related field with 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in energy efficiency or related technologies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office tools.
• Ability to work on a technical team and with non-technical members.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Good planning, organization and time management with adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Review energy efficiency applications for incentives and rebates.
• Assess energy use across HVAC, lighting, compressed air, and energy management systems.
• Research technology changes and propose implementation improvements.
• Maintain knowledge of Illinois energy standards and IECC/ASHRAE guidelines.
• Verify energy savings methodologies for quality control.
• Coordinate and guide supporting teams on energy efficiency programs.
