Job summary

Leidos Engineering LLC is seeking a Senior Energy Engineer to lead energy efficiency projects for utilities and commercial clients. The role emphasizes energy savings estimates, energy auditing, and coordinating with contractors and project teams.

You will review incentives, analyze HVAC, lighting, compressed air systems, and energy management strategies while ensuring compliance with industry standards. Remote work is possible with travel to Illinois offices as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Economics, Business Administration or related field.
• Six+ years of relevant experience in energy efficiency or similar technologies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Ability to work cooperatively on a technical team and with non-technical members.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong planning, organization, time management and adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Review technical energy efficiency applications for incentives and rebates for Ameren Illinois customers.
• Assess energy use across HVAC, lighting, compressed air, and energy management systems in commercial/industrial settings.
• Research technology changes to improve energy efficiency programs and implementation.
• Maintain knowledge of the Illinois Technical Reference Manual and related concepts.
• Review existing energy savings methods for quality control and improvements.
• Use independent judgment to verify requirements across energy savings initiatives.
• Coordinate and advise supporting teams on energy efficiency programs.
