Job summary

Leidos is hiring a Customer Care Specialist to support the Ameren Illinois residential energy efficiency program. The role handles calls, educates customers on energy efficiency, reviews audits, and helps schedule work with contractors.

Remote work is possible, with occasional visits required in the Peoria area. A high school diploma and 1+ year of customer service are required, along with strong English communication and building science knowledge.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 1+ year customer service experience.
• Ability to travel within the service territory as needed.
• Demonstrated fluency in English (written and oral).
• Experience with or strong knowledge of building science principles.
• Proficiency in web-based software and Microsoft Office.
• Strong listening, oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate with clients and co-workers in a friendly, respectful manner.
• Maintain professionalism under pressure and be self-motivated.

Responsibilities

• Take incoming phone calls for the Ameren Illinois residential energy efficiency program.
• Provide customer education and counseling on residential energy efficiency – behavioral changes, programmable thermostat training, DIY upgrades, etc.
• Review energy audit reports with customers.
• Assist customers with obtaining and reviewing estimates and coordinating work with selected contractors.
• Use database management systems and technical reference guides to review energy efficiency applications.
• Implement the Energy Efficiency Plan by creating and populating records in the Customer Management System.
• Schedule customers for home energy assessments and collect appropriate paperwork.
• Provide program overview and conduct entry interview/energy advising consultations.
• Review rebates and incentives, assist with rebate forms, and complete electronic forms when possible.
• Follow up to support completion of home energy upgrades or related programs and remove customer barriers.
• Track all activity in the Customer Management System and meet reporting requirements.
• Integrate with and support related departments such as residential energy audits, trade ally management, rebate processing, and quality assurance.
• Execute energy advisor workflows and address program issues, complaints, and documentation.
• Plan, coordinate, and follow through on tasks and assignments in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
