Job summary

CMTA, a Legence Company, is seeking an experienced Engineer to grow our Energy Solutions offerings in new markets. You will lead performance contracting efforts, oversee engineering design and commissioning, and drive client relationships across multiple markets from the Fairfax area.

The role emphasizes business development, site visits, energy calculations, and collaboration with construction and M&V teams to ensure long-term value for clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in Energy Services/consulting engineering or commissioning
• Undergrad engineering degree from ABET-accredited university required
• Experience in business development and client engagement preferred

Responsibilities

• Introduce and explain performance contracting to clients and identify value opportunities
• Articulate CMTA’s unique approach to performance contracting in technical and financial terms
• Build and maintain strong client relationships to foster repeat business
• Lead business development, client meetings, industry events, and proposal development
• Oversee development phase including site visits, audits, and energy calculations
• Direct the engineering design team in producing drawings and specifications
• Lead bidding processes to ensure quality and competitiveness
• Collaborate with clients to finalize performance contracts and warranties
• Coordinate with construction managers to ensure smooth project execution
• Oversee commissioning to validate performance
• Support clients through warranty phase as needed
• Work with M&V professionals on first-year M&V report
• Demonstrate knowledge of state-specific K-12 design-build procurement processes
