CMTA, a Legence company, is seeking a Senior Project Development Engineer for the federal market to support our Energy Solutions offices. The role blends performance contracting with HVAC design and commissioning, drawing on a strong technical background and client‑facing skills.

You will lead the development phase, guide the engineering design team, manage site visits, audits, energy calculations, and the bidding process, and collaborate with construction, M&V, and aftercare through to warranty.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with an Energy Services company or federal market consulting/commissioning.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar discipline.
• Knowledge of DoD UFGC/UFGS and DOE/Army Corps IDIQ contracts is a plus.
• Experience with energy systems, HVAC, and building performance.

Responsabilités

• Introduce and explain performance contracting to potential clients.
• Lead the development phase including site visits, audits, energy calculations.
• Direct the engineering design team producing drawings and specifications.
• Direct the bidding process and develop final contract with client.
• Work with construction manager to ensure smooth construction period.
• Direct the commissioning process and participate in warranty period.
• Collaborate with M&V professionals on first-year report.
• Engage in federal market activities related to DoD requirements.
