Job summary

Grid United is seeking a Senior Associate/Associate, Commercial Analytics, to perform quantitative analyses that underpin the value of interregional transmission projects. Based in Houston, you will report to the Manager of Commercial Analytics and work with commercial, regulatory, and finance teams to support project financing, regulatory filings, and market studies.

You will build probabilistic resource adequacy models, run production cost and capacity expansion studies, and develop revenue

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of energy analytics experience in wholesale power markets.
• Experience with probabilistic resource adequacy modeling; SERVM preferred.
• Experience with production cost or capacity expansion platforms (AURORA, PROMOD, PSO, PLEXOS, EnCompass, GridView).
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for data automation and analysis.
• Strong writing and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Build, run, and maintain probabilistic resource adequacy models to quantify reliability and capacity value across RTO/utility frameworks.
• Perform production cost, congestion, and capacity expansion analyses to support project valuation and commercialization.
• Assemble and validate model inputs (load, generation, topology, weather) with rigorous QA for reproducibility.
• Develop analytics for capacity value, energy arbitrage, and congestion relief across markets (MISO, SPP, WECC, ERCOT).
• Support regulatory strategy and stakeholder processes with quantitative analysis and white papers.
• Collaborate with commercial, regulatory, and finance teams to align analytical outputs with financing and regulatory needs.
• Automate data pipelines and reporting in Python and SQL for internal/external audiences.
