Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking an Endoscopy Technician II to support GI providers under supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician. You will assist with prep, turnaround, cleaning and high-level disinfection of endoscopes and equipment, and anticipate physician needs during procedures.

You will mentor Endo Tech I staff, participate in training, and help maintain a safe, efficient endoscopy suite in Sugar Land, TX, contributing to excellent patient care and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience as an Endoscopy Technician.
• BLS - Basic Life Support or Instructor (AHA) certification required.
• Demonstrates the skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job.
• Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English to perform essential functions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the interprofessional health care team by communicating pertinent patient care information.
• Teaches others and serves as a mentor to Endo Tech I’s, orienting new staff.
• Maintains an orderly environment and assists in maintaining inventories.
• Supports endoscopy procedures, including preparation, turnaround, cleaning and high-level disinfection of endoscopes and accessories.
• Anticipates physician needs and prepares workflow for procedures.
• Role models behaviors to improve patient satisfaction and unit performance.
