Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking an Endoscopy Technician II to support GI providers, assist with endoscopy procedures, and mentor junior technicians. Responsibilities include endoscope cleaning, high-level disinfection, equipment handling, and collaboration with the care team to ensure patient safety.

Under RN/physician supervision, the role requires strong English communication, teamwork, and independent judgment in a fast-paced environment. On-call duties and a mid-shift schedule are included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED, homeschool verification, etc.).
• Three years of Endoscopy Technician experience.
• BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA) certification.
• Strong English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and turnaround of GI endoscopy procedures.
• Clean and high-level disinfect endoscopes and accessories.
• Mentor Endo Tech I and help train others.
• Prepare physician preference cards and organize workflow.
• Collaborate with interprofessional team to ensure patient safety and quality care.
