J&T Business Consulting in Seymour, CT is seeking a Manufacturing Technical Engineering Manager to lead Technical Engineering, document control, and SMT programming for high‑mix PCBA production. You will supervise a skilled team, oversee data conversion, and ensure BOMs, Gerber data, and routing are release ready for production.

The role requires 5+ years in EMS/PCBA environments, strong IPC‑A‑610 knowledge, and hands-on experience with SMT programming on FUJI NXT III lines.

Qualifications

Minimum 5+ years of progressive engineering experience within electronics contract manufacturing (EMS), technical documentation, SMT programming, or manufacturing engineering.
Demonstrated supervisory or technical team leadership experience.
Deep experience operating within high-mix, low-to-medium volume PCBA production environments.

Responsibilities

Manage and mentor Technical Engineering, Document Control, and SMT Programming personnel.
Establish structured workflows, quality metrics, and cross-training programs.
Collaborate with Manufacturing Operations, Process Engineering, Quality Assurance, Program Management, Supply Chain, and Planning.
Coordinate onboarding, skills assessments, and training in IPC‑A‑610 standards across technical staff.
Direct intake, conversion, validation, and release of complex customer data packages (BOM, Gerber, CAD layouts).
Oversee ECOs and ensure drawings, BOM revisions, machine programs, and work instructions are updated.
Own SMT programming across FUJI NXT III platforms and maintain the central SMT component package library.
Monitor KPIs: lead-time, programming accuracy, first-pass yield, and cycle times.
