Job summary

J&T Business Consulting seeks a Director of Engineering for EMS/PCBA in Seymour, CT. You will lead Engineering and Document Control, drive NPI, and partner with Operations, Quality, and Exec leadership to deliver best-in-class quality, delivery, and profitability.

You will champion Lean/Six Sigma, manage capital investments, and mentor teams across design, manufacturing, and process engineering to meet customer commitments in a regulated, high-reliability environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of progressive engineering experience in EMS/contract manufacturing.
• 5+ years leading NPI and manufacturing process development.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams in high-reliability SMT/PCBA environments.
• Background in regulated sectors (A&D, Medical, High-Reliability).

Responsibilities

• Direct Engineering and Document Control, set priorities and ensure on-time deliverables.
• Mentor and upskill engineers; build technical depth and cross-functional collaboration.
• Define SOPs, KPIs for safety, quality, yield, throughput.
• Guide NPI lifecycle from quotes to ramp and manufacturing transfer.
• Drive continuous improvement using Lean / Six Sigma.
