Job summary

J&T Business Consulting seeks a Manufacturing Operations Manager for an EMS/PCBA facility in Seymour, CT. You will lead plant manufacturing, engineering, and technical operations, driving Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People (SQDCP) excellence, and building scalable production processes with data-driven discipline.

You will pair deep EMS domain expertise with capacity planning, Lean deployment, and tiered management to improve margin, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field required.
• 8–10 years of progressive operational and engineering leadership in EMS/PCBA.
• Experience in regulated sectors (Aerospace/Defense/Medical) preferred.
• Deep EMS operations knowledge: SMT, PTH, conformal coating, box build, FT.
• Strong ERP/MRP planning and capacity modeling experience.
• CAD proficiency and advanced Excel skills.
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt strongly preferred.
• Executive-level communication and cross-functional leadership.

Responsibilities

• Direct and develop high-performing operational and technical teams.
• Mentor engineers and frontline supervisors for proactive ownership.
• Define operational benchmarks aligned with SQDCP metrics.
• Manage Tier 1–Tier 3 daily management systems.
• Oversee SMT, through-hole, testing, box build, and inventory management.
• Lead capacity planning, master scheduling, and line capacity optimization.
• Deploy Lean tools: VSM, 5S, visual boards, Kaizen events.
• Lead CapEx for SMT and automated inspection with ROI analysis.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS9100D, ITAR.
