Job summary

TAPP Workforce Solutions Inc. seeks a senior engineer to own the EMS/SCADA environment for a critical electric utility. You will lead EMS, SCADA, AGC, ICCP, and historian platforms, driving upgrades and architecture across the grid operations team.

You’ll mentor engineers, manage procurement and vendor relationships, and shape OT modernization while maintaining hands-on development in a dynamic, mission-critical setting. Hybrid office work with potential field involvement is available.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in 24x7 critical operations applications
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, CS, Technology, or MIS or two additional years of related experience
• Ability to meet NERC CIP access eligibility and background check
• Experience with electrical utility standards and real-time EMS/SCADA systems
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and time-management skills
• Washington State EIT or Professional Engineer license

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance, configuration, and upgrades of EMS and data historian
• Rebuild substations configurations from engineering docs and verify with vendor
• Design and maintain Automatic Generation Control
• Administer ICCP changes and model configuration impacts
• Diagnose communications, telemetry, and data issues using Wireshark
• Own NERC CIP compliance tasks including change control and patch management
• Lead procurement, contract management, and onboarding of vendors/contractors
• Mentor engineers and develop SOPs and best practices
