Job summary

WSP is seeking a Technical Lead, Grid Modernization to provide technical direction across EMS, ADMS, SCADA, DCS, PLCs, RTUs, and plant or microgrid controllers. You will lead control system architecture, reviews, and testing, coordinating with clients, project managers, and equipment suppliers to deliver reliable, integrated operational systems.

You will guide workshops, define interfaces and data requirements, and ensure alignment with safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, controls engineering, automation engineering, computer engineering, or related field.
10+ years of control systems experience in utilities, generation, microgrids, or critical power infrastructure.
Experience leading complex projects with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

Lead development of control philosophies, architectures, requirements, interfaces, and acceptance criteria.
Define operating modes, control hierarchy, setpoint ownership, and system boundaries with clients and suppliers.
Coordinate with electrical, protection, OT cybersecurity, and power system studies teams.
Own technical completeness and quality of control system deliverables and reviews.
