Job summary

Astound is seeking a Human Resources Manager in Corpus Christi to partner with leaders on performance, conduct, and compliance across multi-state operations. The role emphasizes handling complex employee relations matters, investigations, and policy interpretation to improve the team member experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in managing and resolving complex employee relations matters in a multi-state business environment including Generalist level responsibilities.
• Deep understanding of State and Federal US employment law, EEO regulations, and related compliance including Title VII, ADA, FMLA and equivalents.
• Highly skilled in workplace investigations, negotiation, conflict management and employee relations processes.
• Experience with investigations in remote/hybrid work environments.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal oversight and high autonomy.
• Strong written and verbal communication across all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary contact for employee relations; coach and advise managers on performance management, policy interpretation, and termination processes.
• Conduct complex workplace investigations; prepare summaries, conclusions, and recommendations for leadership and HR partners.
• Build and maintain relationships across all organizational levels; use de-escalation to manage difficult situations and provide factual recommendations.
• Advise leadership on ER issues using independent judgment while upholding company values and reducing risk.
• Develop employee performance improvement plans with management.
• Collaborate with senior HR leadership and internal counsel on corrective actions and documentation.
• Work with external legal counsel on escalated matters as needed.
• Track employee data, metrics, and trends to drive process improvements and engagement.
• Stay updated on federal, state, and local laws; adjust policies to maintain compliance.
• Coach leadership on engagement strategies and productivity; use data to address issues and improve the employee experience.
• Occasionally travel to support market needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
