Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Roy, UT is seeking a Senior Staff Systems Engineer to lead EMP hardening activities and provide SME guidance to the NH&S team. You will oversee electromagnetic pulse design and testing, coordinate large-scale tests, and mentor a team of engineers while interfacing with customers and program boards.

The role requires a DoD Secret clearance with recent investigation, extensive MIL-STD experience, and a strong background in system-level testing and requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or other relevant STEM degree.
• Sr Staff Systems Engineer Experience: 14+ years of related work experience with BS.
• 12+ years of related work experience with Master’s; 10 years with PhD.
• US Citizenship with active DoD Secret Clearance within last 6 years.
• Subject matter expert in MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, MIL-STD-188-125, MIL-STD-2169, MIL-STD-1766C.
• Experience with electromagnetic hardening and system-level testing.

Responsibilities

• Provide SME level technical oversight to the NH&S team in EMP effects, hardening, EMP testing and related activities.
• Lead EMP design efforts with integrated product teams (IPTs) and mentor engineers.
• Coordinate large-scale EMP tests and support system requirements threads.
• Interface with customers and present EMP design recommendations to IPT leads and program boards.
