Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Senior Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) Engineer to leverage expertise in EMP engineering, testing, and evaluation. You will support the NSWCDD EMP Team to ensure shipboard systems remain survivable against EMP threats, performing analyses, experiments, and documentation.

Ideal candidates will have extensive EMP/E3/EMI/EMC experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to develop technical and operational conclusions. A Secret clearance is required or obtainable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4 years of demonstrated knowledge in engineering/technical disciplines.
• Experience in vulnerability assessments, EMP hardening, grounding/bonding surveys.
• Experience integrating experimental, analytical, and numerical methods to solve problems.
• Up-front EMC engineering during system development including data collection and analysis.
• 5 years of EMP/E3/EMI/EMC experience; 8 years in related engineering domains.

Responsibilities

• Support NSWCDD EMP Team to ensure survivability of shipboard systems against EMP threats.
• Conduct tests, collect data, perform analysis, and develop technical conclusions and reports.
• Write technical documentation and provide risk to mission assessments.
