Job summary

Rutgers University is seeking an Emergency Management Specialist to support the Division of Institutional Planning & Operations. The role focuses on planning, design, implementation and maintenance of Emergency Operational, Safety, and Security Plans across university operations.

The specialist will assist with annual and multi-year operational plans, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, and respond to emergencies as part of the Emergency Management Team.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in emergency management, business, government, or related field.
Two years’ relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid Driver's License is required.

Responsibilities

Provide technical and administrative duties related to planning, design, implementation and maintenance of Emergency Operational, Safety, and Security Plans.
Respond to activation of the Emergency Operations Center during emergencies and crisis situations.
Assist with site assessments, hazard assessments and investigations.
Coordinate with stakeholders and officials on emergency management activities.
Lead projects, surveys and time-sensitive assignments within the Emergency Management Team.
