Job summary

The University of New Mexico (UNM) is seeking an Operations Specialist to coordinate Area Emergency Response plans for the university and its branch campuses. Reporting to the Director of Crisis Management and Preparedness, you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and provide community education on emergency management principles.

You will design and execute projects, set priorities, and support management, faculty, staff, and students in developing effective procedures.

Qualifications

  • Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED with at least 7 years of related experience.
  • Completed degree(s) above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Area Emergency Response plans (AEP) for the University and branch campuses; collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide community education in emergency management principles and assist with executing AEPs.
  • Design, develop, coordinate, and facilitate projects and initiatives; establish priorities and schedules.
  • Provide specialized advice and support to management, faculty, staff, and students in developing effective systems and procedures; oversee key operational functions as needed.
