Job summary

Amazon Leo in Redmond is seeking an experienced embedded software engineer to develop and integrate flight software for satellite systems. You will work across requirements, design, implementation, testing, and operations, collaborating with hardware teams to ensure reliable board bring-up and integration.

Qualifications include 5+ years in professional software development, leadership experience, and proficiency in C/C++, Rust, and real-time systems.

Qualifications

5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

Develop embedded software in C, C++, Rust, or other languages in a real-time operating system environment
Architect, design, and implement software for satellite constellation
Write software to interact with devices/electronics using I2C, SPI, RS-422, RS-485, Ethernet, etc. communications
Write device drivers and system applications for flight code and flight management
Work closely with hardware teams to support board bring-up and integration testing
