Job summary

Amazon Leo is seeking a seasoned software engineering leader to help design and scale the Leo satellite onboard agents and ground services, ensuring reliable command, control and telemetry across the system.

You will own end-to-end development from requirements through implementation and testing to operations, mentor teams, and collaborate with ground service teams in a fast-paced, space-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in design or architecture of large-scale systems.
• Experience as a mentor or tech lead.
• 7+ years professional software development experience.
• 7+ years programming in Java, C++, Python, or similar.
• Master's degree or equivalent in CS/CE or related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded software in C, C++, Rust, or other languages in a real-time operating system environment
• Develop AWS cloud services that manage the Leo satellites
• Write system applications for satellite command, file transfer and telemetry
• Work closely with Leo ground service teams and satellite agent teams to support satellite operations
