Job summary

Raytheon is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Gen4 Tactical Airborne Radar group in El Segundo, CA. You will design, develop, and test software for the APG-79 radar and support system integration on hardware.

You will collaborate in small, empowered teams, troubleshoot and optimize code for performance while producing documentation and contributing to continuous improvement in a fast-paced defense environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM and 5 years of software experience.
• Experience coding in C, C++, ADA across the SDLC.
• Experience on UNIX, Linux, Windows, RTOS (VxWorks/Green Hills).
• Active and transferable U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
• U.S. citizenship required for security clearance eligibility.
• MUST obtain SAP/SAR access for continuation of employment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test software based on trouble reports in an agile/waterfall, delivering builds for the APG-79 radar.
• Support system integration of software on hardware.
• Support Development and Production software for F/A-18 roadmap activities.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and collaboration in small, empowered teams.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing code for performance and efficiency.
• Write and maintain documentation including system architecture and design specifications.
• Participate in program execution and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines on system modification requests.
