Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a seasoned Software Engineer to lead embedded software for the TeraWave satellite network. You will design multi-threaded C/C++ apps on Linux/RTOS, implement drivers for RF/antenna/optical systems, and collaborate across hardware and software teams.

Expect hands-on debugging, code reviews, and a drive to deliver high-quality, scalable software while mentoring junior engineers. This onsite role offers relocation support and travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of embedded software development in C/C++ for Linux/RTOS/Bare-metal.
• Strong C++ OO design and implementation skills.
• Hands-on experience with embedded debugging tools (JTAG/SWD/Trace) and peripherals (SPI, I2C, PCIe, CAN).
• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, and TDD.
• Experience leading software teams and mentoring junior engineers.
• Experience with Agile or Scaled Agile methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop multi-threaded embedded software in C/C++ for Linux/RTOS/Bare-metal.
• Develop device drivers and control/data plane functions for satellite transceivers and optical systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software with hardware.
• Contribute to documentation, code reviews, and design discussions.
• Troubleshoot using telemetry, logs, and debugging tools.
• Champion embedded software practices including CI/CD and testing automation.
• Deliver with speed and mentor junior engineers.
