Job summary

Blue Origin, an aerospace leader, seeks a Software Engineer to lead embedded software development for the TeraWave constellation. You will design multi-threaded C/C++ software for Linux/RTOS platforms, implement drivers, and work with hardware teams on satellite payloads and ground terminals.

You will mentor junior engineers, drive CI/CD, and participate in architectural decisions to ensure high performance and reliability of space-based networking systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of embedded software development in C/C++ on Linux/RTOS/Bare-metal platforms.
• Strong proficiency in C++ object-oriented design and implementation.
• Hands-on expertise in embedded debugging using JTAG, SWD, CoreSight, Lauterbach/Trace32, J-Link, J-Trace.
• Experience with peripherals: SPI, I3C, I2C, PCIe, CAN.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and Test-Driven Development.
• Experience leading software development teams and mentoring junior engineers.
• Experience with Agile or Scaled Agile methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop multi-threaded embedded software in C/C++ for Linux/RTOS/Bare-metal platforms on multi-core SoCs.
• Implement drivers and manage data plane functions for Satellite RF transceivers and related systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software with hardware.
• Contribute to documentation, code reviews, and design discussions.
• Troubleshoot issues using telemetry, logs, traces, and debug tools.
• Champion development practices including CI/CD, automated testing and TDD.
• Deliver with speed and quality and mentor junior engineers.
