Job summary

Blue Origin in the Seattle/Bay Area region is seeking a senior software engineer to lead embedded software development for the TeraWave satellite network. You will design multi-threaded C/C++ software for Linux/RTOS and guide hardware/software integration across the constellation.

You will mentor junior engineers, drive CI/CD practices, and contribute to architecture decisions while delivering high-quality, time-critical solutions for space-based networking systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years embedded software development in C/C++ on Linux/RTOS/Bare-metal.
• Strong C++ OO design and implementation.
• Hands-on embedded debugging with JTAG, SWD, CoreSight, Lauterbach/Trace32, J-Link.
• Experience with peripherals: SPI, I3C, I2C, PCIe, CAN.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and TDD.
• Experience leading teams and mentoring.
• Experience with Agile or Scaled Agile.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop multi-threaded embedded software in C/C++ for Linux/RTOS/Bare-metal.
• Develop device drivers for transceivers, antennas, and optical systems.
• Collaborate with hardware teams to integrate software.
• Contribute to documentation, code reviews, and design discussions.
• Troubleshoot with telemetry, logs, and debuggers.
• Champion CI/CD, test automation, and TDD.
• Deliver with speed and mentor junior engineers.
