Job summary

RTX, a leading aerospace and defense company, seeks a Software Engineer II for the BMC2 Capabilities team in St. Petersburg, FL. This onsite role covers embedded and application software across real-time and simulated environments, with agile/Scrum practices.

You will design, implement, and test software, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions.

Qualifications

Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 8+ years of experience or an advanced degree with 5+ years of experience.
Experience with C++, Python and object-oriented software design.
Hands-on experience developing automated tests for embedded or software systems (unit/integration/system).
Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, OS concepts, and software development life cycle processes.
Active and transferable DoD Secret security clearance required prior to day 1; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

Participate in requirements, design, development and testing of embedded software and related tools.
Design, code, test, integrate, and document software solutions.
Contribute to internal reviews of software components and systems.
Develop and maintain automated test frameworks for validation across embedded targets and simulations.
