Job summary

RTX, a leading aerospace and defense company, seeks a Senior Software Engineer for onsite work in Orlando, FL. You will design, develop, test, and maintain software using Python, Java, and C/C++ in a Unix/Linux environment, with responsibilities spanning debugging, system-level programming, and integration with APIs and hardware interfaces.

The role requires a STEM degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience, along with the ability to obtain a U.S. SECRET interim clearance.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience using Python, Java, C/C++.
• Experience with Git and CM processes.
• Experience operating on Linux/Windows platforms.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued interim secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications supporting mission engineering using Python, C++, and Java.
• Work in Unix/Linux environments, including shell scripting, debugging, and system-level programming.
• Create scalable, maintainable software following best practices in architecture and design.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, QA, and DevOps.
• Provide feedback to ensure code quality and adherence to standards; troubleshoot and optimize performance.
