Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking a Software Engineer II for our BMC2 Capabilities group onsite in St. Petersburg, FL. You will work on embedded software across real-time and application domains, participate in all SDLC phases, and contribute to automated testing and modern CI/CD pipelines.

The role requires C++/Python expertise, strong OS and systems knowledge, and a DoD Secret clearance. Collaboration in an Agile SAFe environment is essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of data structures and algorithms, systems software design, operating systems, architectures, SDLC and processes.
• Experience with C++, Python and object-oriented software design.
• Hands-on experience developing automated tests for embedded or software systems (unit/integration/system).
• Typically requires a degree in STEM and minimum 8 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with minimum 5 years of experience.
• Active and transferable DoD Secret clearance required; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in requirements, design, development and testing of embedded software (application, middleware, OS, tools).
• Design, code, test, integrate, and document software solutions.
• Participate in internal review of software components and systems.
• Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks for validation across embedded targets and simulations.
• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
• Operate in a collaborative SAFe Agile environment.
