Job summary

RTX El Segundo, CA is seeking a Software Engineer II to join its product development teams. This role supports the full software development lifecycle for military and commercial programs, focusing on real-time C++ applications and integration with systems engineering.

The ideal candidate has a STEM degree with 2+ years of experience in C++, Linux/VxWorks, and scripting, and must hold or be eligible for a Secret security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in C++ design paradigms on Linux, VxWorks, or other RTOS.
• Experience in developing, testing, and integrating real-time software in C++.
• Experience with scripting in Shell/Perl/Python.
• Active and transferable U.S. Government issued Secret security clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship required for security clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Supports all aspects of the software development life cycle as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Supports new and legacy military and commercial programs from concept and requirements to design, development, integration, test, and maintenance.
• Provides creative solutions to complex technical system and software integration problems.
• Works closely with Systems Engineers to design optimal solutions that address end user and operational needs.
