Job summary

RTX (Raytheon) in St. Petersburg, FL seeks a Software Engineer to join the BMC2 Capabilities team and contribute to embedded software across applications, middleware and OS layers.

You will participate in requirements, design, development, and testing, coding and documenting solutions, and collaborating in a SAFe agile environment. Travel up to 10% for field tests may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM major obtainable by start date.
  • Experience with C/C++ and object-oriented software design.
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, coursework, or projects.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in requirements, design, development and testing of embedded software, including application, middleware, operating system and supporting tools.
  • Design, code, test, integrate, and document software solutions.
  • Participate in internal review of software components and systems.
  • Follow established development practices and processes to maintain configuration management of software products.

The BMC2 Capabilities engineering organization is seeking a Software Engineer to join our software development team located onsite in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Our teams develop software in a variety of languages, primarily C++. Candidates can expect to work on many-if not all-of the phases of the software development life cycle. In this position, you will be responsible for providing practical solutions to difficult technical software problems. Software Engineering positions include working on a variety of different tasks including real-time software development, application software development, test and verification, data analysis, software tools development, and many others. Teams are organized using Agile scrum methodology.

Participate in the requirements, design, development and testing of embedded software, including application, middleware, operating system and supporting tools, to include development of new work products or enhancement of existing applications and systems.

Design, code, test, integrate, and document software solutions.

Participate in internal review of software components and systems

Follow established development practices and processes to maintain the configuration management of software products.

Operate in a collaborative, SAFe agile environment

Travel up to 10% for field integration testing

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
  • Experience with C/C++ and Object-oriented software design
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience developing software in a team-based development environment, preferably Agile/SCRUM, DevSecOps and test automation.
  • Experience in prior leadership roles such as a Scrum Master, Product Owner or equivalent
  • Experience working with large, complex software systems and refactoring legacy code.
  • Experience writing software for and debugging issues in real-time multithreaded software applications.

Salary

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
