Job summary

Crane Company is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to provide technical leadership in embedded systems, real-time software, and signal processing for industrial measurement products. The role is hands-on, focused on architecture, firmware development, hardware-software integration, and guidance across programs.

You will work with hardware, FPGA, systems, and test engineers in a cross-functional team, on-site in Billerica, MA, delivering robust software for next-generation ultrasonic

Qualifications

• 8+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Advanced proficiency in C/C++ programming.
• Experience with embedded operating systems and RTOS concepts.
• Knowledge of interrupt-driven software, concurrency, and deterministic RT behavior.
• Experience with low-level embedded software including drivers, BSPs, HALs.
• Experience interfacing with SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, GPIO, DMA, ADC, DAC.
• Experience with ARM Cortex architectures and heterogeneous platforms.
• Board bring-up, processor initialization and hardware validation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and maintain embedded firmware for industrial products.
• Translate requirements into robust software architectures and designs.
• Collaborate with hardware, FPGA, systems, and test teams throughout development.
• Drive HW-SW integration, validation, performance optimization, and debugging from prototype to production.
• Participate in design reviews and code reviews to ensure quality.
