Job summary

Draper in Cambridge, MA seeks a software engineer for embedded real-time avionics systems. You will develop high-performance embedded software for resource-constrained targets across undersea, terrestrial, air, hypersonic, and space domains.

You will own the full software lifecycle from design to testing and deployment, and you will lead a small team while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with customers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Engineering/CS with 5+ years embedded software experience.
• Experience with RTOSs (VxWorks, Integrity, embedded Linux, Zephyr, FreeRTOS).
• Experience with device drivers, init/boot code, and embedded buses (CAN, I2C, SPI, SpaceWire, 1553).
• GCC/LLVM, static/dynamic analysis, and QEMU proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-performance embedded real-time avionics software.
• Design algorithms and verify with tests across targets.
• Lead architecture decisions and guide sub-systems.
• Mentor junior staff and coordinate with customers.
