Job summary

Crane Aerospace & Electronics in Lynnwood, WA is seeking a Sr Embedded Software Engineer to lead development of robust, certifiable embedded software for sensing products used in aerospace. You’ll design, implement, integrate and verify software across real-time environments, working with systems and hardware teams to ensure safety and reliability.

The role requires DO-178C experience, model-based development with SCADE, and strong C/C++ skills; ARINC/CAN/AFDX interfaces and EWM/DOORS tooling

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of embedded software in real-time or safety-critical environments.
• Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems.
• Experience with ARINC 429, RS-232, CAN, AFDX interfaces.
• Knowledge of DO-178C, SCADE, and model-based development.
• Familiarity with LDRA for structural coverage and DOORS for requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and optimize embedded software in C/C++ for SPS sensing products.
• Lead software architecture, integration, and verification activities.
• Support certification efforts and DO-178C documentation.
• Collaborate with Systems, Hardware, Test, and Manufacturing teams.
