Job summary

Raytheon Space and Air division in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Principal Software Engineer [Embedded / Radar] to join the Gen4 Tactical Airborne Radar program as Technical Software Lead for the F18 team.

You will guide software development, coordinate with engineering, leadership, and customers to ensure on-time delivery of high-assurance embedded radar software running on diverse RTOS platforms across the full SDLC. Onsite role requiring SAP access and a US security clearance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) is typically required.
• Active and transferable U.S. government security clearance is required prior to start date.
• Experience as Software Lead or REA and interfacing with customers is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance to the software team and liaise with customers and program leadership.
• Drive progress to meet deadlines and milestones in an agile/waterfall environment.
• Design, develop, test, and integrate software for the F/A-18 radar and related hardware.
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and document software applications and architecture.
