Job summary

Ammortal Inc in Asheville, NC is seeking a senior software engineer to own the Chamber's embedded Linux application software, interfacing with hardware over serial and bus protocols. The role includes occasional frontend work and end-to-end system understanding.

You will set architectural direction, define coding standards, mentor teammates, and collaborate with hardware, OT partners, and customer experience to ship robust features.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience on Linux-based systems.
• Embedded Linux, IoT, robotics, or hardware experience is a plus.
• Open-source contributions or personal projects demonstrate depth in systems software.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and development of Chamber application software on embedded Linux, including hardware communication over serial and bus protocols.
• Lead architectural decisions for our microservices-based platform and drive them through to implementation.
• Define and uphold engineering standards for code quality, testing, and deployment.
• Act as the technical escalation point for complex customer and field issues.
• Maintain and extend early-gen Chamber software.
• Contribute to frontend work as needed to ship complete features.
• Collaborate with hardware, operations, and customer experience teammates to deliver end-to-end solutions
