Job summary

Ammortal Inc is seeking a senior software engineer to own the Chamber's embedded Linux application software. You will interface with hardware over serial/bus protocols and sometimes contribute to frontend work, gaining end-to-end system insight.

As a technical owner, you will shape architecture, set code quality standards, and guide junior engineers while partnering with hardware and OT teams to deliver complete features for our hybrid work setup in western North Carolina.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience on Linux-based systems.
• Strong proficiency in Go, C, or C++ and experience interfacing with hardware over serial/bus protocols.
• Experience designing and shipping production software in distributed architectures.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and development of Chamber application software on embedded Linux.
• Lead architectural decisions for the microservices platform and drive implementation.
• Define and uphold engineering standards for code quality, testing, and deployment.
• Serve as escalation point for complex customer and field issues.
• Maintain and extend early-gen Chamber software and contribute to frontend work as needed.
• Collaborate with hardware, operations, and customer experience teams to ship features.
• Mentor teammates and help raise overall technical capability.
