Job summary

Ammortal Inc. is seeking a software engineer for embedded Linux on the Chamber platform in the Asheville area. You will contribute to Linux-based application software that talks to hardware over serial and bus protocols, with occasional frontend work.

You’ll learn from a senior engineer and engage across hardware, operations, and customer experience teams. The role offers hands-on exposure to the full product stack, mentorship, relocation support, and a hybrid work setup with onsite engagement

Qualifications

• Solid programming foundation in Go, Python, C or C++.
• Comfort working in Linux environments and on the command line.
• Experience with version control (Git).
• Basic understanding of software development lifecycle and testing practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop features and fixes for Chamber app software on embedded Linux with guidance from senior engineers.
• Learn and contribute to software that communicates with hardware over serial/bus protocols.
• Write clean, tested code and participate in code reviews.
• Help with quality assurance to keep Chamber software reliable.
• Assist with customer issue investigation and escalation when needed.
• Maintain early-gen Chamber software.
• Contribute to frontend work as needed.
• Collaborate with hardware, operations, and customer experience teams.
