Ammortal, Inc. in the Asheville/Mars Hill area is seeking a Senior Embedded Linux Software Engineer to own the Chamber's application layer on embedded Linux, interfacing with hardware via serial/bus protocols. You may also touch frontend tasks to ship complete features.

You will set architectural direction, mentor teammates, and collaborate with hardware and OT teams to deliver end-to-end solutions. This role offers ownership with growth into technical leadership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with Linux exposure.
• Strong proficiency in Go, C, or C++, plus one high-level language.
• Hands-on hardware-software integration over serial/bus protocols.
• Experience designing and shipping production software in distributed architecture.
• Git and modern CI/CD practices; understanding of SDLC and testing.

Responsabilités

• Own design and development of Chamber app software on embedded Linux.
• Lead architectural decisions for our microservices platform.
• Define and uphold standards for code quality, testing, and deployment.
• Act as escalation point for complex customer and field issues.
• Maintain and extend early-gen Chamber software.
• Contribute to frontend work as needed to ship features.
• Collaborate with hardware, operations, and customer experience teams.
