Job summary

Ammortal, Inc. in the Asheville, NC area seeks a senior software engineer to own the Chamber's embedded Linux application layer, interfacing with hardware over serial and bus protocols.

You may also contribute to frontend work to ship complete features. You will set architectural direction, define code quality standards, and mentor teammates while collaborating with hardware, OT partners, and operations to solve real‑world problems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering on Linux-based systems.
• Experience shipping production software in microservices or distributed systems.
• Hands-on hardware-software integration experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and development of Chamber application software on embedded Linux with hardware communication.
• Lead architectural decisions for our microservices-based platform and drive them to implementation.
• Define and uphold engineering standards for code quality, testing, and deployment.
• Act as the technical escalation point for complex customer and field issues.
• Maintain and occasionally extend early-gen Chamber software.
• Contribute to frontend work as needed to ship complete features.
• Collaborate with hardware, operations, and customer experience teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
